It is the responsibility of private enterprise to help shape society. We are involved in a number of activities - both social and cultural - that go far beyond the boundaries of our business activities. We provide support to children from socially disadvantaged families through the Josef Schörghuber-Stiftung für Münchner Kinder. For years, we have been the largest private patron of the Haus der Kunst in Munich. We are helping promote the sport of ice-skating in Upper Bavaria with the construction of Hacker-Pschorr Arena in Bad Tölz. Together with SZ-Magazin, the color supplement of the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, the City of Munich and Fördergesellschaft Landespflege Bayern, we erected the Home of Today on the site of Germany's National Garden Show 2005, thus making an active contribution to the discussion on traditional forms of living, contemporary architecture, technology and design. These and other activities bear witness to the close ties we have to Munich and Bavaria.
